Julie Cannon is originally from Toronto, Canada. She received her BA in Marketing and Human Resources from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec.

After graduation, Julie pursued a career in television and film development and lived in New York City and Los Angeles during her 13-year career.

After the writer’s strike in 2008, Julie made a career change and joined Northwestern Mutual as the Director of Selection and Recruitment. Julie served as the Centralized, Full-Time Recruiter for the Encino, Woodland Hills, Bakersfield, and Santa Barbara offices of Northwestern Mutual from 2008-2011 and recruited 74 Career Changers during that time. Julie doubled her expected recruiting goal her first year and was ranked in the top 5% of recruiters nationally. She continued to exceed her recruiting targets for the next 3 years and was the top recruiter in the country for Career Changer recruiting from 2009-2011.

Julie’s niche as a recruiter was nurturing relationships with high-level Career Changers and supporting their transition into the Financial Representative Career. She became known for her unique language and approach to highly sought after candidates and was able to cultivate relationships with successful individuals from many different industries. She also created effective recruiting based tracking systems as well as a strategic approach to target markets as a way to be more competitive.

In January of 2012, Julie started her own Recruiting and Talent Acquisition Consulting firm to support recruiters, financial representatives, real estate agents and senior executives from both the Financial Services and Real Estate industries with becoming more effective and efficient in their roles.

Her coaching philosophy is simple; hold each client accountable for the activity necessary to achieve their goals while supporting them with tactical language, systems, referral approach, and phoning and scheduling ideas to apply immediately to their practices.

Julie lives in Moorpark, CA with her husband Joe and their three children Pressley, Gunner and Bronx.
