The Fifth Income Producing Activity of Sales Leaders (Part 5 of 12)

Do you run weekly sales meetings?

Do you give recognition and share the good news?

And in these meetings, are you taking the time to do additional training?

Today’s fifth income-producing activity is to do training in your weekly meetings that go beyond product education and production numbers.

I want to ask you to do something in your sales meetings.  Turn those into opportunities for sales training, not just to talk about product updates, not just to talk about why you guys aren’t hitting sales, but actually to think of those as this is the weekly time. You can do it once or twice a week.

We train twice a week at Southwestern Consulting it is our weekly time when I’m deliver my team ongoing training. I sit in on sales meetings when I’m shadowing sales teams, they’re all product, or they’re all the negative feedback on the salespeople about why they’re not hitting these numbers.

This is wasting such valuable time having your team off the phones and the streets by having them in there. You should be using that time to build them up, to give them new skill sets and to encourage and motivate them by continuing to train and grow them.

One of the things we help our clients do is put together a year-long calendar of all the training topics that you’re going to train your team on. Here are things to add:

  • Bring in different resources and different people to train.
  • Have your successful team members who are doing well help train.
  • You can train at some of them yourself.

If you are curious about the structure of these meetings, the year-long calendar or any training tools, I would love to connect and help you in any way possible. Please visit and let me help or you can also see past sales videos and blogs too.

Stay tuned for my next installment of the income producing activities of sales leaders.
