The Ninth Income Producing Activity of Sales Leaders (Part 9 of 12)

Are you running specific contests for your team with incentives attached to them on a regular basis?

As a sales manager, we always get what we promote. When you’re creating a contest, you want to think about what sort of activity or behavior do you want to promote?

At Southwestern Consulting we teach our clients to structure contests around things that people can control.

This is the NINTH income-producing activity of sales managers. If you’ve missed any of these, check out my YouTube Channel Six Figure Sales Coaching where you can see all of them and make sure you don’t miss any of them!

Many times, sales managers may structure a contest that is “Whoever sells the most clients this month.” At Southwestern Consulting we teach our clients to structure competitions around things that people can control such as:

  • Sales Conversations
  • Contacts
  • Referrals

It’s tough if you don’t have clarity on how to achieve something, it’s hard to execute on it.

Putting together specific contests, promoting the behavior that you want from your team, with a fantastic prize in mind for them is one of the most important things that you can be doing as a sales manager to help get your team to the next level.

As I mentioned before, if this is helpful or if you’re listening and thinking, “I don’t know how to structure a contest for my sales team properly.”
